So here comes my first post after coming to Coimbatore. Now as the blog name "omveer in manipal" doesn't make much sense but still don't feel like changing it.I will keep it in this way,Earlier this name used to signify physical presence of Omveer in manipal but now it will signify mental presence of him in manipal. Some part of Omveer still thinks of the days he had in manipal all the time.
When I was asked in interview "are you fine in working in Coimbatore", I gave very nice explanations like I am staying away from home since class 8th and very adjustable to any place or environment and blah blah blah, but seriously its not very easy. I am still struggling when it comes interacting with local people as Tamilnadu is too much into Tamil language but one thing I would really appreciate is the friendly nature of people here.Food is the other problem, here people have same menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner i.e Idly and Dosa, the only thing changes is chutney. So some days back I decided to cook on my own and hopefully will continue it with some more time.
The other thing when it comes to new place is friends. And I am very happy to have very good friends here who are always happy to help me when it comes to talking with someone in Tamil. Its really nice to have friends coming from different cultures, then only you wonder how big our country is.Even in office, the atmosphere is so friendly. For any kind of my doubt there will be many people always ready to clear it.
One more thing which is helping me preoccupied with my initial days here in Coimbatore is German Language Training.Everyday in office I have two and half hours of German Language Training, which is a real opportunity to know about German culture along with loads of fun.
So that was all from me. Don't have much to write as omveer is no more in manipal but still he is in process of figuring out the ways to make his life atleast 50 percent as exciting as it was in manipal. I will surely get back to you once the goal is achieved.
Regards
Omveer

Talk about adjusting into a new place! If not for Sagar and Chotu I'd have died in Hyderabad, though its very different from the "typical south indian city" which I had imagined it to be.
Cooking and all by yourself.. great! I'm a bit luckier than you when it comes to food here :)
good to see an update after so long.
Finally i have found a Punjabi Mess who delivers food to my home. Thanks to punjabi people, whoom you can find anywhere in globe :)
Vaise Coimbatore is "Typical south Indian City" :(
